Email tracking

Here you can find out how to activate email tracking and what you should bear in mind.

Event > Settings > Section "Email tracking"


Note: If you cannot see this section, it is probably hidden.

In order to display it, scroll to the bottom of the “Settings” tab and click on “Show more options”.
There you can set which sections should be displayed and which should be hidden so that you have a better overview. :)

Email tracking

guestoo offers you the possibility to track who has opened the invitation e-mail and who has visited the event page.

This setting is deactivated by default!

 

If email tracking is activated, you can see who and how many guests have opened the email and visited the event page in the following places:

  • In the "Statistics" tab of the event
  • An icon may appear in the guest list to indicate that the email has been opened
Important notes on email tracking
  • Email tracking is only permitted in a personalized manner if you have obtained effective, active consent from the recipients of the newsletter beforehand with reference to the right to object.
  • If you activate personalized tracking, you should therefore already have this consent from all the people invited to this event in advance!
  • If in doubt, ask your lawyer or data protection officer whether activating email tracking for your event is legal in your case!

How to activate email tracking:

  • Switch to the "Settings" tab of your event and scroll to the "Email tracking" section
  • Click on the "Edit" button in the top right corner
  • Click on the button "Activate personalized tracking"
  • Read the information on personalized tracking and confirm that you have read it by clicking on “Yes”
  • Click on the "Save" button in the top right corner
  • Done

This is how you can deactivate the personalized email tracking again:

  • Switch to the "Settings" tab of your event and scroll to the "Email tracking" section
  • Click on the "Edit" button in the top right corner
  • Click on the button "Deactivate personalized tracking again"
  • Click on the "Save" button in the top right corner
  • Done
