Option for the guest to create an account

Here you can give your guests the opportunity to enter a password when signing up and thus create a password-protected account.

Event > Settings > Section "Option for the guest to create an account"

Note: If you cannot see this section, it is probably hidden.

In order to display it, scroll to the bottom of the “Settings” tab and click on “Show more options”.
There you can set which sections should be displayed and which should be hidden so that you have a better overview. :)

Du kannst für das guestoo Back-End zwischen zwei Darstellungsoptionen wählen. Die Screenshots in der Doku basieren auf dem "Klassischen Design".

Guest accounts

Guest accounts -

Here you can specify whether your guests have to enter a password when signing up for the event and thus create a password-protected account. They can then only access their guest dashboard to view, change or delete their personal data, for example, after entering their email address and password.

Advantages
  • If guests want to sign up for other events (without an invitation), they can simply log in and do not have to update their master data again (e.g. as a spectator at soccer matches or as a guest in a restaurant).
  • Your guests' data is doubly protected so that no third party has access to the guest dashboard, even if they have access to the guest's email inbox

Note: If you do not activate the password-protected account, your guest will receive a URL in every email from guestoo that will take them to their guest dashboard.

Setting options

Setting options -

You can make the following settings in the event under Settings > Option for the guest to create an account:

  • Hide option
Your guests do not have the option of assigning a password and therefore cannot create their own account.
  • Display but voluntarily
Your guests have the option of assigning a password and thus creating their own account, but this is voluntary and not mandatory.
  • Display and mandatory
Your guests must assign a password and thus create their own account. If they do not do this, they will not be able to sign up for the event.

Note: Bear in mind that some guests may be reluctant to register on a new site or have trouble remembering their password. You know your guests and the circumstances best to decide which option is suitable for your event, but we would still like to point out that the obligation to create an account could be an inhibition threshold for some guests.
